6 New Retailers Headed to South Market District

Developers of the multimillion-dollar South Market District are adding a half dozen retailers to the mixed-use development downtown.

The Domain Companies announced Thursday that the shops include The Parker, a “modern throwback of a classic 1920s barbershop.”

The Daily Beet, a health-conscious restaurant that uses local foods, and upscale kitchen boutique Simplee Gourmet have opened in The Beacon at South Market. They join HigherPower and Hair Loft Studio.

The Beacon will also be home to the second location for Blanc Beauty Bar, a full-service beauty salon that opens this month. Zeus’ Place, a site for pet grooming and boarding, and Lukka Boutique are expected to open at The Beacon in the fall.

South Market District spans a five-block area combining luxury housing with over 25 retailers, restaurants and entertainment venues.

More additions will be announced in the coming months, according to Matt Schwartz, principal of The Domain Companies.
