See Inside The Standard, A new $80 Million Luxury Condo Building In Downtown New Orleans
The Standard at South Market is officially open. The new $80 million luxury condo building started welcoming move-ins in May.
The 15-story building on Julia Street is the fourth in the South Market District development downtown, which also includes The Paramount and The Beacon, both apartment buildings. The Domain Cos., the developer behind the district, hosted a grand opening for its latest addition in late May.
“We’re proud to introduce a level of product never before seen in the New Orleans market, and look forward to expanding upon what South Market has to offer locals and travelers in the city,” Matt Schwartz, principal of The Domain Cos., said in a news release.
The Standard has 89 units and about 24,000 square feet of retail space as well as 30,000 square feet of amenity space for residents, including a pool, clubhouse, fitness center and on-site parking. Photos shared after the grand opening in May give a first glimpse at the pool area, which includes a pool house, private cabanas and outdoor kitchens.
Condos at The Standard start at $650,000 for a one-bedroom, $785,000 for a two-bedroom and more than $1.1 million for a three-bedroom. About half of the building has sold to owners, including both of the building’s two penthouses, according to the release. One of those penthouses sold for $3.21 million in January, marking one of the highest-priced condo sales ever closed in New Orleans.
